Master Your Voice.
Are you ready to unlock a powerful and versatile voice without compromising your vocal health? From the raw energy of false chord and fry screaming to the clarity of operatic soprano, I teach a comprehensive range of vocal techniques designed for maximum power and control. My name is Rob McClurg, and with over three decades of experience as a professional musician and artist, I am here to help you find your voice.
Our Teaching Philosophy: Built on Technique, Grounded in Health
My teaching methodology is rooted in Speech Level Singing/Screaming (SLS), a technique that ensures correct vocal habits and prevents permanent damage to your chords. We go beyond simple exercises, focusing on an in-depth discussion of vocal anatomy and internalizing your technique. This approach empowers you with the knowledge and control you need for consistent, powerful, and healthy singing or screaming, whether you're on stage or in the studio.
You will learn how to master:
Vocal Dynamics: From soft, intricate melodies to powerful, soaring vocals.
Extreme Techniques: Confident and safe execution of false chord and fry screams.
Vocal Range: Expanding your capabilities from operatic "dirty" soprano and everything in between.
Meet Your Instructor: Rob McClurg
My journey began in 1986, taking guitar lessons from the legendary Mark English of Monstrosity. Over the next 30 years, I developed a deep understanding of music, from performance to production. My passion for teaching began with guidance from CJ Szuter (Enuff Z'Nuff) and was honed under the mentorship of the late great Tim Aymar, an “American Metal Legend,” known for his work with Pharaoh, Angband, and his collaboration with Chuck Schuldiner on Control Denied. I also continued my education with James Murphy, the guitar and engineering journeyman of Death, Disincarnate, and Testament.
As an audio and visual artist, and as a member of the "Old School American Metal Band" Consumed X Chemistry, I’ve spent my life creating. Now, I’m focused on teaching and sharing the power of music with others.
